Resumen:
Under hypotonicity goldfish hepatocytes swell followed by avolume regulatory decrease (RVD). The initial swelling triggersATP release, followed by activation by extracellular ATP of asignaling process enabling RVD. ATP can also be hydrolysed byectonucleotidases to ADP in the extracellular space. Sinceextracellular ADP has been postulated to inhibit ATP release, weused mathematical modeling to assess whether extracellular ADPcan inhibit the release of ATP.
