Resumen:
A case of a 54-year-old patient with a intraductal tumor in the right breast is presented, which is sometimes a surgical quadrantectomy and axillary lymph node dissection. She subsequently received 3D radiotherapy, act in accordance with a standard fractionation protocol, reaching a dose of 5000 cGy in 25 sessions of 2.0 Gy / day and an additional 1000 cGy bus in the nodular region. Also, anthracycline treatment was administered. The particularity of the case lies in the development of grade III toxicity, during the third week of treatment. The lesions consist of confluent wet desquamation, severe edema and mild ulcerations. Taking into account the medical history of the patient and the individual radiosensitivity data, using cyto-molecular techniques and genetic polymorphisms, concluding that although these intrinsic variables are of vital importance, dermal radio-toxicity is a multifactorial phenotype that should address in a broader context, in principle significant variable criteria such as breast size, body mass index and concomitant treatments, responsible for these unwanted effects and thus protect the quality of life of the patient sometimes these cancer therapies.
