Empirical calculation of vaporization enthalpies at 298,15 K of the n-alkanes from C21 to C28 and C30

We report  the results of linear and quadratic fittings of vaporization enthalpies of some n-alkanes as a function of the number of hydrogen and carbon atoms. The quadratic equations work better than the linear ones, and the agreement between theoretical and experimental data is quite good. The only exception within the chosen set is pentacosane, and the relatively large deviation with respect to the reported experimental value seems to suggest the need to look carefully into the experimental determination.
