Resumen:
Folic Acid (FA) is a vitamin particularly sensitive to the acidic pH of the stomach and this leads to a low bioavailability in the small intestine epithelium. Due this, new approaches for improving FA bioavailability and stability are required. In this study we proposed that FA can be encapsulated into a carboxymethyl cellulose matrix (CMC). This strategy could allow a controlled release of FA in the small intestine cells.
