VIP induces a tolerogenic profile in the CBAxDBA mating combination

Resumen:
Background: Based on the immunoregulatory properties of the vasoactive
intestinal peptide (VIP) we investigated VIP effects in implantation sites of
this high resortion mating.
Methods: CBAxDBA and CBAxBALB mating females were studied on d9 of
gestation. Implantation sites were isolated after in vivo VIP treatment
(1nmol ip) or PBS performed on d6. VIP/VPAC, RORgT and cytokine
expression was assessed by RTPCR (Protocol approved by School of
Sciences Ethics Committee).
Results: VIP and their receptor VPAC1 was expressed in uterus and
induced at d9 of pregnancy.Moreover, VIP induced a signi cant increase in
IL-10 and Foxp3 expression while decreased IL-17 and RORgT in the
implantation sites. In vivo VIP treatment on d6 of gestation signi cantly
