Resumen:
The Lipetrén Formation crops out along the Catán Lil gully, Southwestern Sierra Pire Mahuida, Chubut province, where it is represented by epizonal granitoids which form a body 60 km². Two main lithologies were distinguished: a- Granitos Grises, of granodiorite composition, with fine granitic texture bearing mafic microgranular Qz-dioritic enclaves and b-Granitos Rojos, granite ss, with coarse-grained and well developed feldspar crystals. According to the mineralogy they are metaluminous, showing evidence of pressure deformation and deuteric alteration. These outcrops are correlated with rocks exposed at the nearby town of Gastre.
