Resumen:
The aim of the present study was investigate seroprevalence of venezuelan equine encephalomyelitis (VEE) subtype I and VI in human sera provided by Laboratory of Epidemiological Survillance from Formosa District (Formosa province, Argentina) in 1995 and 1997. The prevalence of neutralizing antibodies subtype VI was 20% and 26%, whereas for the VEE subtype I was 9% and 10% on sample obtained in 1995 and 1997, respectively. These results confirm that both enzootic subtypes circulate in this area though subtype I strains had not been isolated in Argentina yet.
