Resumen:
The aim of this work was to study the possible adverse effects of TiO2 (average size 15 nm) and Al2O3 (average size50 nm) nanoparticles used in different goods and medical devices such as cosmetics, sun screens and bone prostheses. The cytotoxicity of the nanoparticles was examined with the Neutral Red (NR) uptake assay and the reduction of a tetrazolium salt (MTT assay) in two different cell lines: UMR106 (clonal derivative of a transplantable rat osteosarcoma) and CHO-K1 (cells from ovary of an adult Chinese hamster).
