Resumen:
The lectins are proteins or glycoproteins of non immune origin, extrated of vegetables and some animal that unite in reversible and highly specific form with carbohydrates. This property has extended its use for the glycoconjugated study in diverse tissue. There are primary results of a work guided to characterize the pattern of glycoconjugated expression in the corpus luteum of rats in advanced pregnancy. For this work were used "Wistar" rats, which coming from the animal facility of our faculty. The ovaries was obtained of females whit gestations of 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, and 23 days, fixed in buffered formaldehyde and processed following routine histological technique. Seven biotynilated lectins were used (CON-A, WGA, DBA, SBA, PNA, RCA, and UEA-I) following present protocols (ABC method). A high reactivity of the luteal cells was observed with CON-A and in small grade WGA. The capillary endothelium evidenced reaction with WGA and in small grade with SBA, PNA, RCA, while the basal membranes made it with WGA. Vesiculous structures were observed, intensely marked with DBA, more abundant in the sections coming from the animals with pregnancy more advanced, which could be attributable to cellular detrituses, but the morphologic characteristics of them. These results showed us the necessity to study these structures during previous and later stadiums of their development, trying to elucidate the produced changes.
