Análisis hidroquímico de las aguas superficiales y subterránea del valle de Uspallata-Mendoza (1970-2015)

The Uspallata town is located in the department of LasHeras, Province of Mendoza, at 1800 masl. The valley constitutes a sedimentarybasin with direction N-S and has numerous surface water courses coming from tothe western slope of the valley (Cordillera del Tigre). In the present work acompilation of hydrochemical analyzes from the Uspallata basin was realizedsince 1970-2015. The data analyzed included 15 sampling sites (6 surfaces, 8groundwaters, and 1 spring). Result showed a low mineralization of the waters,with values of EC lower than 600 uS /cm. The 80% of the samples were calciumbicarbonate type, in which two of them changed to the bicarbonated sulfate -calcic types. Remaining samples (n=3) were sodium sulfated type. No significant differences have been observed in itscomposition during the period of analysis, thus it can be concluded that thesystem is in a quasi-state of chemical evolution.The comparative analysis of waters chemicalcomposition developed in the present work, constitute a contribution to theanalysis of the hydrodynamics in the Uspallata stream basin. Additional studiesare required to define a conceptual hydrogeological model of the Valley.
