Resumen:
My purpose in this talk is to examine the so-called Five Modes of Agrippa in connection with current epistemological discussions of justification and assertion. Certain analytic epistemologists have recently raised objections to the effect that those modes rely on questionable assumptions. I will argue that, given both the Pyrrhonist?s uncommitted stance on the soundness of the Agrippan modes and the role played by disagreement in his argumentative strategy, the objections in question do not pose a real problem for him.
