Resumen:
The two main topics of this Fifth and Final Report on Remote Sensing and National Space Legislation are closely inter-related. In turn, space debris and dispute settlement - both matters under permanent study by this Committee since the adoption of the ILA Instrument on the Protection of the Environment from Damage caused by Space Debris1 (66th Conference 1994) and the Convention on the Settlement of Disputes related to Space Activities2 (68th Conference 1998) - are strongly linked to remote sensing and national space legislation3. Registration issues -which were reviewed by the Committee in the Toronto (2006) and Rio de Janeiro (2008) Conferences- appear as a question common to all. These are the central areas upon which the Space Law Committee has been focusing over the last four ILA Conferences in accordance with its terms of reference.
