The Study Group on the Responsibility of International Organisations has a two-fold mandate: first, to contribute to the work of the United Nations International Law Commission (ILC) on the draft Articles on the Responsibility of International Organisations (DARIO) and, second, to monitor the practice of international organisations on the basis of the 2004 ILA Report on the Accountability of International Organisations. Thus, this Report consists of two different parts: Part I reviews the work of the International Law Commission on DARIO on first reading, while Part II provides a case study of the accountability procedures and policies for international financial institutions.
