Resumen:
A trilobite faunule from the upper part of the Talacasto Formation at Cerro La Chilca, SanJuan Province, Argentina includes Calmoniidae that are elsewhere known onlyfrom the Scaphiocoelia Assemblage Zone in Bolivia. Typical Scaphiocoelia Zonetaxa at Cerro La Chilca are Tarijactinoides jarcasensis Suarez Soruco, 1971,Bainella cooperi sp. nov., closely allied to the Bolivian B. insolita (Wolfart,1968), and Deltacephalaspis sp. The most common calmoniid in the faunule isBainella sanjuanina Baldis, 1967, originally based on material from theTalacasto Formation at El Molle. Tarijactinoides jarcasensis is also reportedfrom the Talacasto Formation at two additional localities in San Juan Province, one of which bears Calmonia nov. sp. A. The Scaphiocoelia Zone, which includesthe earliest record of diverse Devonian calmoniids in Bolivia had notpreviously been recognized outside Bolivia.
