Resumen:
a scarce and relatively low-diversified acritarch assemblage has been recovered from themiddle section of the Santa Victoria Group at the Quebrada de Chalala, JujuyProvince, Argentina. Nine taxa are identified. One new species is erected:Cristallinium chalalensis Ottone n.sp. Four species are left in opennomenclature. They comprise the leiospherids and three probably new speciesthat are designated informally because of their numerical insufficiency. The microflora has many species in commonwith the early Arenigian Lower Acoite Palynological Assemblage (AL) previouslydefined at the neighboring Los Colorados and Río Cajas sections. However, owingto the absence of conspicuous forms of the AL as: Peteinosphaeridiumtrifurcatum intermedium Eisenack, Baltisphaerosum peniguelli Ottone and species of Striatotheca, a Tremadocian age could be also assigned to the palynoflora
