Resumen:
Abstract   The optimization of the surface functionalization of silica, obtained by sol-gel technique, by silanes was studied to obtain different surface degree of hydrophobicity. The grafting of silanes onto silica requires the presence of silanol groups at the surface and the very low number of adsorbed water molecules. For these points, the obtained silica was calcined to different temperatures and after its surface was functionalized by covalent attachment of the basic amino groups of 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane. For a better understanding of these solids, the characterization of nature species were determined by FT-IR, XRD, DTA-TGA and surface area (SBET). The modified silicas with different amount of silanes were added in polyurethanes to study the rheological and mechanical properties
