Resumen:
Nanocomposites based on cobalt oxide nanoparticles supported on silica matrix were widely investigated due to their significance in the conversion of biomass into liquid biofuels [1]. Also, black cobalt pigments are used in solar absorber paints, unfortunately, when submitted to a high temperature thermal treatment; these paints change their optical properties [2]. In this work, a cobalt?silicon composite is proposed as a possible candidate to overcome this drawback. By sol-gel process using tetraethylorthosilicate (TEOS) and ethanol, SiO2 is obtained using acid weak catalysis, were Co3O4 nanoparticles in different proportions are added. Obtained gels were characterized by X-Rays-Diffraction (XRD), Scanning Electronic Microscopy (SEM) and digital photography.
