Resumen:
Chlorofluorocarbons (CFC) and long-lived Hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFC) are important anthropogenic sources of reactive chlorine to the stratosphere [1].The Montreal Protocol and subsequent amendments have phased out manmade production of many ozone depleting substances necessitating the development of environmentally acceptable alternatives. In this sense, Hydrofluoroolefins (HFOs) are currently being considered as viable replacements compounds because they have high gas-phase reactivity which leads to low global warming potentials, GWPs, and therefore, a desirable reduced climate forcing compared to that for the HFCs that they replace. Prior to its use in commercial applications and possible release into the atmosphere, its atmospheric chemistry and potential impact on the environment need to be understood [2]. In this work rate coefficients for the reactions of hydroxyl radicals with with 2-fluoropropene; 3,3,3-trifluoro-2-(trifluoromethyl)propene and (E/Z)-1,2,3,3,3-pentafluoropropene have been determined at 298 K and atmospheric pressure.
