Resumen:
Abstract. New macroporous polymer rods have been prepared by free radical cross-linking copolymerization from Nacryloyl- TRIS(hydroxymethyl)aminomethane (NAT) and N,N´-methylenebisacrylamide (BIS) as cross-linking agent, different porogenic mixtures and azobisisobutyronitrile (AIBN) as initiator. The porous properties of these materials were controlled by changes in the proportion of the porogenic mixture, polymerization temperature or concentration of cross-linking agent. These hydrophilic materials resulted promising to be used as affinity chromatography based support for separation of biological macromolecules and as throughput bioreactors.
