Resumen:
The agricultural and livestock activities in Patagonia, mainly sheep farming, favored the introduction of exotic species. Some species, such as the filaree (Erodium cicuarium) or the vulpia (Vulpia sp.), now naturalized, are considered as edible plants of a certain forage value because of their contribution of green biomass in the winter months. However, their impacts on the plant communities where they have naturalized have not been studied. Others, such as the cheatgrass (Bromus tectorum) and the rose hip (Rosa rubiginosa), have been identified as invaders, with potential negative impacts on the affected ecosystems. But also some native species, most of them non-palatable, have increased their coverage due to practices such as grassland burning or livestock overgrazing in some areas. This is the case of duraznillo (Colliguaja integerrima) and molle blanco (Schinus odonelli). These species, which have increased their cover in recent decades due to mismanagement practices, are considered ?increasers?. In the Sierras de Telsen Pilot Site, it was observed that, in the evaluation of the vegetation, it was necessary to incorporate this information, since it is useful to describe the vegetation states and allows for a more accurate interpretation of the history of the use of forage resources.
