Resumen:
A complete study of adsorption, surface diffusion, clustering, and percolation of adsorbed gases on heterogeneous surfaces is presented in such a way as to stress the importance of adsorptive energy topography (i.e. correlation between adsorptive energies of different sites). Theoretical models as well as simulation techniques are developed in order to describe these phenomena on a wide variety of topographies. The characterization of surfaces through combined use of adsorption and surface diffusion experiments is discussed. © 1992, American Chemical Society. All rights reserved.
