Resumen:
The effect of female size on offspring sex ratio, progeny production per host-egg, and progeny production per parasite was investigated in the scelionid parasite Telenomus fariai. Progeny sex ratio is completely uncorrelated with size of female wasps. Progeny production per host-egg is slightly affected by parasite size, an effect strong at the 5% level in the emerged female progeny production per host-egg and total number of individuals (emerged adults + dead adults + dead pupae) per host egg. There seems to be no effect of female size on the emerged female progeny per parasite although it is detectable at the 5% level on the total number of individuals per parasite; this difference suggests a very efficient larval competition process in operation.".
