Resumen:
:  In this work, lanthanum supported catalysts containing potassium, platinum and rhodium, are studied in order to determine the catalytic behavior in the simultaneous elimination of soot and NOx from diesel exhausts. Potassium is included to promote soot oxidation, and platinun and rhodium to enhance the NOx-trapping performance  of lanthanum, both increasing the rate of NOx adsorption and decomposition.  The catalysts were characterized by temperature programmed reduction, DRX, FTIR and high frequency CO2 pulses. The activity for soot oxidation in the  presence of NOx was determined in isothermic experiencies.  The NOx storage capacity was evaluated using a microbalance. It was found that the presence of noble metals strongly improves the NOx adsorption capacity and decreases the temperature needed for nitrates decomposition
