Resumen:
The nature of coke obtained by means of an accelerated deactivation test and that produced in a plant during naphtha reforming are compared. The accelerated deactivation test includes three periods; different amounts of carbon, in the same order as those obtained in plant, can be produced if the pressure is decreased consistently during the severe intermediate period. Studies of thermal programmed oxidation and X-ray diffraction indicate that coke has the same nature and the same degree of polymerization in both instances for a similar amount of coke. The catalyst used was Pt-Re/Al2O3-Cl and the feed was C6C10 naphtha
