Resumen:
Granitic areas associated with the AchalaBatholith and coarse-grain granitoids with a high content of alkalineelements (K2O+ Na2O> 9%) have been studied in the Sierras de Córdoba. These rockunits generally have very important reserves and due to theircomposition they can be used in different types of ceramics in homeand international industries. Eleven rock areas have been selected, which have been considered interesting as sources of raw material forthe ceramics industry, due to their geochemical characteristics, specially their content of alkaline elements and their low content ofFe2O3, TiO2and CaO. The studied areas have beenclassified according to their relation with the Achala Batholith, within the batholith differentiated leucogranites of Los Riojanos,Los Linderos Mount, María Fernanda, La Precámbrica and Los NonosHills episienite have been studied. Of the bodies that are notassociated with Achala, outcrops of pegmatoid granites of 1º deJulio, La Lomita, Aída Group, Santa Clara-Doña Rosa, Puesto Gapoand the Mogote Blanco leucogranite have been studied.
