The Si particle size effectwas studied for application in x-ray fluorescence analysis of quartz and feldspars. A modified Blanquet model was used tocalculate the Si(K)intensity as a function of silicate rocks particle size. The wholeexperimental conditions -like the x-ray polychromatic source,geometry, etc.- were considered in the calculations of this work.Theoretical results were used to develop an experimental method tocorrect for particle size effect in Si fluorescence intensity. Theconclusions are able to be applied on non-heavy elements.
