Resumen:
The objective of current research was to phenotypefield-grown transgenic (tg) maize plants including thesark::ipt sequence, which confers delayed cell deathunder drought. Wetested the hypothesis(H0)of no dif-ference between tg and non-tg (null) plants in non-stress conditions. Evaluated tg plants belonged to theSI-7 and SI-9 events, each backcrossed to B73 (IowaStiff Stalk) and LP2542 ((INTA) inbreds. All backcrosseswere cropped in paired-rows under irrigation at IGEAFduring 2017-2018. Each row included tg and nullevents. We evaluated (i) green leaf area per plant(GLAP), as the sum of the individual area of all greenleaves at R2, (ii) leaf area senescencerate(SRLA) fromR2 onwards, (iii) total aerial plant biomass (BTP) andplant grain yield (GYP) at physiological maturity.
