Resumen:
We study the generation of photons in an optomechanical cavity with a moving mirror due to the dynamical Casimir effect. By considering the mirror as a quantum mechanical harmonic oscillator interacting with the electromagnetic field in the cavity through radiation pressure we take a fully quantum approach. We analyze the dynamical evolution of different initial states and study the quantum properties of the light generated, such as the mean number of photons generated and their statistics. We also investigate the efficiency of converting a large number of phonons to photons in the cavity.
