Resumen:
Abstract Polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) residues were GC-ECD analyzed in sediments from Las Brusquitas (LBC) and La Tapera (LTC) creeks, located in the southeastern region of Buenos Aires Province. Results showed that LTC had higher PCB pollution than LBC with mean concentrations of 999 and 203 (ng/g OC), respectively. The stations near urban areas showed the highest PCB levels as a result of anthropogenic influence. LTC outfall presented 3-fold higher PCB levels than LBC outfall. The distribution of PCBs congeners was relatively similar, with a predominance of higher chlorinated. These results are consistent with in-situ pollution rather than long-range transport. .
