This special publication of the Journal of South American Earth Sciences will focus on the importance of the South American record to the understanding of the evolution of tetrapod communities during the Triassic Period. The articles are expected to be topic overviews which might include new perspectives, new information, and/or novel interpretations. This volume will not only update the state of art of the South American Triassic tetrapods but also highlight how this outstanding fossil record impact on the perception of Triassic tetrapod communities across Gondwana and the rest of Pangea.
