Resumen:
The promoter effect of Co on Fe in the Fischer-Tropsch synthesis (FTS) with a "semi-model" catalyst based on CoFe2O4 nanoparticles (6.3 ± 1.3 nm) supported on modified SBA-15 (11.7 ± 2.3 nm pore diameter) is studied in this work, controlling the average size and the width distribution of the active phase. In this way these variables do not affect the activity and selectivity in the FTS.For this purpose, the support was impregnated with nanoparticles, then activated and used as catalyst in the FTS at 603 K and 21 atm. The catalytic results were compared with those achieved with a catalyst without promoting. The samples were characterized by several techniques like N2 adsorption, TEM, DLS-QELS, and Mössbauer spectroscopy. The system was active in the reaction showing high hydrocarbon production, a conversion of 55 %, which remains constant in the reaction time with low methane production (∼ 10 %). These results indicate that the synthesis methodologyused allowed us to obtain "semi-model" catalysts in order to study the Co influence in the absence of "sensitivity to structure" effects.
