Resumen:
On 2010 a long-duration active region emerged and persisted through five monthsfrom July until its decay in November. The quadrature situation of the STEREO spacecraftenabled continuous tracking of the region and identication of the coronal mass ejections originatingin it. Using data from the STEREO SECCHI instrument suite, as well as from theAtmospheric Imaging Assembly and the Helioseismic and Magnetic Imager instruments onboardthe Solar Dynamics Observatory, we investigate the conditions that gave rise to specificperiods of ejective activity in this active region. We determine the locations from which massejections originated, and measure the ejection's angular widths, speed, and mass. The activeregion behavior, during front-disk passages, is analyzed by following the spatial distribution andevolution of current density, current helicity, and other parameters extracted from customizedHMI-SHARP data. The correlations found between the active region photospheric evolutionand periods of intense ejective activity, is encouraging to understand the physical mechanismsat work and to improve space weather forecasting.
