Efecto de la textura sobre las propiedades mecánicas de chapas de Ti50Ni50−xCox obtenidas por método convencional y colada entre doble rodillo

Resumen:
Two sets of Ti50Ni50−xCox alloy thin strips were produced by rolling and by the twin-roll casting rapid solidification method. To apply this alloy in some dental and medical applications is important to know the crystallographic texture and their role on the attainable transformation strain. Austenite textures of {100}B2, {110}B2 and {211}B2 diffraction planes were measured by X-ray diffraction and inverse pole figures were calculated. The rolled strips revealed a γ fiber (111B2ND), while the twin-roll cast showed columnar grain structure with a strong 100B2ND texture. On the basis of the measured textures, the upper bound for B2 → B19 transformation strains were estimated using a Sachs type model, for both kinds of strips. These values were compared with the maximum recoverable strain measured on load-biased thermal cycling of the specimens, and analysed taking into account the different microstructures and textures.
