Resumen:
Electrodeposit of Pt-Ru , Pt-Ir,  Pt-Re and Pt-Sn on gold have been used as catalyst for the oxidation of methanol. Pt-Ru electrodeposit on Au were characterized by Auger Electron Spectroscopy, Energy dispers X ray and XRD. Pt-Ir electrodeposits were prepared on gold and platinum from controlled potential from mixed chloroplatinic acid and iridium chloride solutions. XRD studies were carried out with pure platinum and Pt-Ir  on Au and Pt samples. The spectrum is similar to Pt-Ru electrodeposits and correspond a face-centered cubic lattice structure were Pt atoms were replaced for Ir . On the other hand electrodeposits on Au show that a preference orientation is presented.In order to compare the electrochemical activity of the platinum iridium electrodeposits with the alloy structure, they were used as catalyst in ammonia and methanol oxidation
