Resumen:
The detection
of a ammonia gas is of major importance in many technological fields, such as the food industry, industrial
processes, medical diagnosis and environment protection. The present
study is conducted to enhance the detection of ammonia gas using Ir and Pt-Ir
electrodes. The
electrode was prepared by a mixture of Pt black and Ir black at different
proportions. Potentiodynamic experiments and current-time curves at constant potential
were performed in a glass cell. The sensitivity limits and a linearity of
response are examined. The mixture pf Pt-Ir 50: 50 shows increases sensitivity
to ammonia, higher than platinum black.
