PT-Ru
electrodepositswere prepared by electrodeposition at controlled potential from
mixed chloroplatinic and and RuCl3 solutions. Ths substrate was gold and the
deposits were obtained at 0.05 V and =.V
vs N:H:E:. Different ratio of platinum to ruthenium in the plating solution was used. The
Pt-Ru electrodeposits are used as
elextrocatalyst for the methanol oxidation . The samples were examined using
Auger and SEM-EDAX spectroscopies.To
determine the Pt-Ru atomic concentration Pt ( 1965 eV) Ru ( 273 eV) and O ( 505
eV peaks were use. The atomic concentration of O decreases from the surface as
the depth increases. Th Ru composition changes as the same way. It is possible
the O woul be
associated with Ru in ruthenium oxide.
