Resumen:
The contributiom of the arboreal vegetation to the airborne pollen spectrum of Mar del Plata city was analysed. Airborne pollen concentration was sampled with a Burkard trap. A census of trees was taken. Almost all the airborne pollen (99.98%) came from the local area and the sourroundings. On the contrary, forty percent of trees were not registered in the pollen spectrum due mainly to their zoophylous pollination. Cluster Analysis grouped entomophyllous and anemophyllous taxa separately. For anemophyllous taxa a positive correlation of pollen concentration and tree density was found. Entomophyllous taxa showed a negative correlation between concentration and distance to pollen sources.
