Resumen:
To study the effect of support for APR catalysts, we evaluated metal catalysts on two commercial Sasol supports: alumina Al2O3 and hydrotalcite MgO-Al2O3. A reference catalyst with 1% of Pt and two bimetallic with 1% of Pt and 3% of Ni or 3% of Co were prepared. The metals were incorporated according to different procedures. The metal phase was characterized by ICP and CO chemisorption. The dehydrogenation capacity was measured with dehydrogenation reaction of cyclohexane test (DCH). The APR Glycerol was conducted in a tubular fixed bed reactor, with an aqueous feed of 10% w/w glycerol at a flow rate of 0,02 cm3/min, 225 ° C, 22 bar, WHSV = 11.7 h-1 and gas flow outlet 3 cm3/min. The catalyst deactivation by coke deposition was studied by temperature programmed oxidation test (TPO). Bimetallic containing Pt and Ni show excellent yield and selectivity to H2, a good stability over time and a low selectivity to CH4 APR glycerol, however, we did not observe that hydrotalcite show a significant increase in hydrogen production by aqueous phase reforming.
