Resumen:
The influence of O2 concentration, temperature, pressure and flow rate during regeneration on the metal dispersion of a Pt-Re/Al2O3 catalyst coked in a commercial unit was studied. The regeneration was carried out in bench scale equipment under operating conditions similar to those used in commercial reforming units. Differential thermal analysis experiments were done in order to determine the operating conditions under which the ignition of the coke during reactions occurs. It was found that the exothermicity of the oxidation of the metal and the combustion of adsorbed H2 are important in initiating the coke burn-off. The operating temperature was found to be the main factor influencing the dispersion; the other variables were less important the influence of such variables on the actual burning temperature was studied and discussed.
