Resumen:
The use of multi walled carbon nanotubes (MWNT) as fillers in elastomer matrix composites is nowadays attracting a great deal of attention. These new nanocomposite systems could have broader application potential due to their unique  mechanical, thermal and electrical properties. In this study is report an easy technique to produce cured styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR)/multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWNT) composites with a sulphur/accelerator system at 150 ºC. Composites with 0.33 and 0.66 wt% were prepared. The influence of MWNT content in the cure of composites was studied by DSC and Rheometric curve. The presence of interaction between the MWNT and SBR were analyzed with FTIR, and TGA while the influence of MWNT content in the crosslink density of the composites were evaluated by Swelling techniques. The results were interpreted take into account the dispersion of the MWNT in the rubber matrix of SBR also the adhesion filler-matrix was analyzed from the fractured surfaces of the samples using a field emission scanning electron microscopy.
