Establishing the link between HgMn and PGa stars

We discuss the most recent spectroscopic and spectropolarimetric observations of the star HD 19400, which represents the group of PGa stars. Our high-resolution study of abundances, line profile variability, and the longitudinal magnetic fieldof HD 19400 reveals a remarkable similarity between this group and the HgMn stars.
