Resumen:
In this work we will compare the efficiency both in computing time and precision of an innovative software, which integrates differential equations by means of the Taylor method, developed by Jorba & Zou, against other two integrators, one based on a Runge-Kutta method (DOPRI8) and the other on a predictor-corrector method (Bulirsch-Stoer, BS hereafter). To do this, we performed integrations of the corresponding ordinary differential equations (ODEs) in order to compute the MEGNO, the largest Lyapunov Characteristic Number (LCN) and the equations of motion in a model of the potential of a triaxial elliptical galaxy, with a considerably high precision on the approximate solutions (10-15 ). We show here some of the results and the conclusions that arise from its analysis. (More details could be seen in Darriba et al., which is in preparation).
