Resumen:
The Lucilia group sensu Merxmuller et al is revised and its phylogeny analysedby means of acomputarized parsimony program (Hennig86). Cladograms and strict consensus tree arepresented and discussed. A sequential model of the vicariance biogeography of the Lucilia group is presentedand its implications on the historical biogeography of South America is discussed. The following genera are recognizedas belonging to Lucilia group: Belloa, Berroa, Chevreulia, Cuatrecasasiella (Luciliopsis auct.), Faclis, Jalcophila, and Lucilia. Also belonging to Lucilia group are the twogeneraGamochaetopsis and Luciliocline. A key is given to the nine recognized genera. each of which is described here with brief descriptions and list of recognized species.
