The Mexican species Anaphalis aecidiocephala Grierson and A. concinna (A. Gray) Grierson are transfered to genus Chionolaena DC. The new combinations Chionolaena aecidiocephala (Grierson) Anderberg & S.E. Freire and Chionolaena concinna (A.Gray)Anderberg & S.E. Freire are made. An illustration and a brief discussion of morphology of the taxa, their systematic position, and the distribution of their diagnostic characters in the Gnaphalieae in general is presented.
