Resumen:
Mixtures of powders of nominal composition Fe1-xSnx (0.15£x£0.30) have been mechanically alloyed under argon in a horizontal vibratory mill. The evolutions of short range order and product phases have been studied by 57Fe and 119Sn Mössbauer effect spectroscopy and by x-ray diffraction. Very small FeSn2 particles readily formed during the first milling stages and were later consumed to give rise to a bcc solid solution. For x=0.15 the final state seemed to be homogeneous but tin-rich iron surroundings with rather well defined local structure have been observed for higher concentrations.
