Resumen:
Objective: Prenatalstress (PS) during pregnancy affects in uterus and postnatal child braindevelopment. Key systems affected are the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axisand the autonomic nervous system.Methods:Prospective case-controlstudy matched for maternal age, parity and gestational age from 28 weeksto term was carried out at Hospital Materno Infantil Ramón Sarda (CEI Protocol 09/2015).Using the Cohen Perceived Stress Scale (PSS) questionnaire, pregnant women withPSS-10 ≥ 19 were classified as stress group (SG). Women withPSS-10 < 19 served as control group (CG). Maternal hair cortisol wasmeasured 24-48 h after delivery. Clinical data from mothers and newborns wasrecorded. One month after birth, children were evaluated with Bayley´s scaleand mothers with the Edinburgh Post-partum Depression Scale (EPDS).Results: For a pilotstudy, 50 women were interviewed, 37/50 had a PSS-10
