The recent emergence of the periodic mesoporous materials becomes an active area of research because their exciting potential applications in catalysis, separation, drug delivery, nanocomposites and confinement of electronic materials. Functional groups can increase the adsorption performance of mesoporous materials. Many of the current chemotherapeutic drugs cause severe toxicity to the body when administered at high systemic doses, then, the study of functionalized mesoporous materials for adsorption and release of different drug molecules is a very promise task to address this problem.
