Resumen:
Glassy systems relax so slowly that they may never reach equilibrium in human scales. This fact has motivated a change in approach, from equilibrium to dynamical studies. In dynamical studies we typically measure time(s)-dependent functions, correlations and responses; we tend to use big systems, to avoid equilibrium. Here we present an example of this type of study, based on the XY random field model. The main motivation ia that the state of order in systems with continuous point symmetries can be very sensitive to weak disorder. Further, there is still controversy about the ground state of the XY random field model at low and moderate fields. But in addition to these, the main issue is how can we characterise the dynamics of the system from the point of view of the Fluctuation Dissipation Theorem.
