Resumen:
From the cognitive prototypical linguistics standpoint, the present work analyses in Spanish Cleft Sentences like Sos vos la que se lo pide, two problems that have always been handled separately by the researchers: the non-canonical vs. canonical variation in the verb agreement of person and number (Sos vos la que se lo pedís / pide) and the variation ‘que galicado’ vs. article + ‘que’ (Sos vos que/la que se lo pedís). I want to demonstrate the gradual use of the two phenomena within the framework of the hypothesis of iconicity from Borzi (2002a). This hypothesis has also consequences in the ordering of the syntactic analysis which can’t be considered successively binary. Instead it has to be considered simultaneously tripartite.
