Resumen:
Giant oysters proliferated in the coasts of lower Miocene Patagonian sea of San Jorge basin, buiding reefs that grew in shallow, brackish and warm-temperate lagoons. The main accumulations are included in late high stand system tracts of the Chenque Formation sequences.
